Take a Look at the 2022 Subaru Lineup

The old adage that “knowledge is power” really is true when you’re shopping for a vehicle – the more you know about what’s out there, the easier it is to find the perfect ride. To help with that, we thought it would be fun to quickly take a look at the current Subaru lineup to see what’s available. With so many great models offered, it wouldn’t be practical for us to get into too many details on each one, so this won’t be a deep dive into these models. You’ll get a good sense of what each of them has to offer, however, so you can focus on one or two vehicles when you come to visit us.

Subaru Impreza

First up, we have the stunning Impreza, which is a fantastic place to begin when looking at Subaru’s impressive lineup. One of our favorite things about this model is that it’s available in two different configurations: you can get an Impreza as a standard four-door sedan or choose a hatchback model. The difference really comes down to the design that you prefer and how you like to be able to use the spacious interior, though both models come with symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) standard, which is a hallmark of the Subaru lineup. The Impreza gets an estimated 36 MPG on the highway and 28 MPG in the city, making this a great option for getting around in Albany and the surrounding area.

Subaru Legacy

Next up we have the Legacy, which is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a traditional midsize sedan with plenty of interior space and impressive performance. Like most other Subaru models, the Legacy comes with AWD standard – something that’s quite rare for sedans like this – and you get more than 105 cubic feet of interior passenger volume, even more than the Impreza. A 2.5L 4-cylinder engine is standard on the Subaru Legacy, though there’s a 2.4L Turbocharged engine available that delivers 260 hp for a truly exhilarating driving experience you won’t find with many other four-door cars.

Subaru BRZ

If you are looking for something with even more power and performance packed into it, then check out the BRZ. This is Subaru’s two-door sports car that features a bold and stylish design plus plenty of muscle under the hood to get your heart racing on your next weekend cruise. The 228 hp engine roars to life beautifully in the Subaru BRZ, which comes with rear-wheel drive rather than AWD in order to deliver a performance-focused experience. You get a six-speed automatic transmission in the BRZ, with paddle shifters to keep you engaged while driving, though a six-speed manual transmission is available if you prefer to have total control over your car. The interior is gorgeously designed and quite luxurious, giving you a driving experience unlike any other on the road.

Subaru WRX

For our customers looking for a four-door car that can handle just about anything you throw at it, we often recommend the Subaru WRX. This is a rally and sport legend that comes with AWD, naturally, plus a remarkably powerful engine that delivers 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This gives it the muscle to take you wherever you want to go, while the reengineered track-tuned suspension and rally-inspired design are perfect for paved and dirt roads alike. This year’s WRX features an all-new Subaru Performance transmission with paddle shifters, or you can choose a quick-shifting six-speed manual transmission to remain fully in control. The interior is gorgeous and surprisingly stylish, with an available 11.6-inch Infotainment display.

Subaru Crosstrek

If you’re looking for an SUV rather than a car, then the Crosstrek is a great place to start; this is a subcompact crossover model that’s perfect for fitting into a modest lifestyle. As you’d expect, it comes with AWD standard and gives you 8.7 inches of ground clearance that lets it go many places that other subcompact models can’t. You get a very spacious interior with the Crosstrek, which includes 55.3 cubic feet of total cargo volume behind the front seats. Despite its bold design and impressive performance, you can still get an estimated 34 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG in the city with the Crosstrek, making it a great choice for a wide range of drivers.

Subaru Forester

For something a bit larger than the Crosstrek, the Forester is Subaru’s compact crossover model that gives you more room to play with. Just like their other models, the Forester features standard AWD that is great for handling rough weather around Albany or for heading to your favorite campground. You get more than 111 cubic feet of total passenger volume inside the Forester, making it surprisingly spacious, along with 74.2 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume when you need it. When properly equipped, the Forester can also have up to 3,000 lbs of towing capacity to haul whatever you need behind you.

Subaru Outback

A third option if you’re interested in a two-row SUV from Subaru, the Outback is a midsize model that gives you a fantastic driving experience. You get more than 9 inches of ground clearance with the Outback, making it a great choice for some light off-roading, while 75.7 cubic feet of total cargo volume inside makes it easy to load up with all of the equipment or supplies you need for a long weekend of camping. When properly equipped, the Subaru Outback can have up to 3,500 lbs of towing capacity, giving it even more muscle than the Forester, and it is a fantastic option for anyone with a taste for adventure.

The 2022 Outback starts at $27,145 and has an available turbocharged engine.

Subaru Ascent

Finally, the Ascent is Subaru’s most spacious SUV, with three rows of seating that can comfortably fit either seven or eight passengers. The interior of the Ascent is gorgeous, and there are numerous trims and features available, so you can get the right configuration for your passengers and the level of comfort you’re looking for. More than 8 inches of ground clearance let the Subaru Ascent go exploring when you need it, plus you can get up to 5,000 lbs of towing capacity here to pull a boat or trailer behind you. A turbocharged engine comes standard, and you get more than 153 cubic feet of passenger space inside for everyone to stretch out in.
