While recommended Subaru service intervals vary between different models in the lineup, Subaru of Troy provides a general overview of suggested Subaru maintenance schedules below.

 

Recommended Subaru Factory Maintenance Schedule

Sticking as closely as possible to the Subaru maintenance schedule will keep your vehicle running as the automaker intended on Albany and Schenectady roads and prevent problems before they start. As a result, you can count on a long and dependable life from your Subaru. Be sure to check your owner’s manual for the recommended Subaru factory maintenance schedule for your specific year and model. In the meantime, here’s a general guide to Subaru maintenance:

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 10,000 Miles 

  • Change oil and oil filter
  • Check other vehicle fluids and change as needed
  • Check the drive belt
  • Inspect the tires 
  • Inspect the underbody
  • Test the lights and windshield wipers

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 20,000 Miles

Perform all 10,000-mile services, as well as:

  • Check coolant levels
  • Check the axle boot
  • Inspect hoses and clamps
  • Replace engine and cabin air filters, if needed
  • Rotate tires
  • Test front, rear, and parking brakes

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 30,000 Miles

Repeat all 10,000-mile services and add the following tasks:

  • Check the battery and replace it, if needed
  • Inspect the steering and suspension systems
  • Lubricate all latches, hinges, and locks

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 40,000 Miles

At 40,000 miles, the recommended Subaru factory maintenance schedule suggests repeating all of the above services.

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 50,000 Miles

Perform all 10,000-mile maintenance services as detailed above.

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 60,000 Miles

In addition to the 10,000-mile services, the following inspections and replacements should be added at the 60,000-mile Subaru service interval:

  • Check coolant levels
  • Check the axle boot
  • Check the PCV valve
  • Inspect hoses and clamps
  • Inspect the emissions hose
  • Replace engine and cabin air filters, if needed
  • Rotate tires
  • Service the fuel injectors
  • Test front, rear, and parking brakes

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 70,000 Miles

Repeat the 10,000-mile Subaru service interval.

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 80,000 Miles

Once again, repeat the 10,000-mile services, but add the following:

  • Check the battery and replace it, if needed
  • Replace engine and cabin air filters, if needed
  • Rotate tires

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 90,000 Miles

Have all 10,000-mile service performed again.

Subaru Maintenance Schedule – 100,000 Miles+

At this point, both the 10,000- and 20,000-mile tasks should be completed, as well as:

  • Change the transmission and differential fluids
  • Replace the spark plugs
